Organizing Secretariat has reserved accommodation at the different category hotels ranging from 3 to 5 star grading. All hotels are within reasonable distance from the Prague Congress Centre.

To make a hotel reservation, please fill in the relevant section in the Accommodation & Tours Form.

The hotel preference as well as the second choice should be indicated. The reservation will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note that the hotel booking is not possible without previous registration.

Organizing Secretariat reserves the right to book a room in a similar hotel in case the preferred hotel is fully booked.

All the rates quoted are per room and per night including breakfast and VAT of 5%. Should the VAT change by the beginning of the Congress, the Organizing Secretariat will automatically change the price of your hotel reservation and will inform you in writing about a new rate. Extras have to be paid directly at the hotel reception before departure.

CONFIRMATION OF THE HOTEL RESERVATION AND DEPOSIT PAYMENT (INDIVIDUALS)

A credit card number with authorization to charge 1st night deposit or bank drawn in EUR equivalent to 1st night deposit is required to guarantee your reservation. All major cards are acceptable. Your room account must be paid in full to the hotel at check-in or check-out. Your hotel may require credit card as a guarantee at check-in.

Rooms will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis and you will receive written confirmation of your reservation from GUARANT International (after a one night’s deposit is received).
Any reservation made after March 16, 2006 will be subject to availability.

CANCELLATIONS, CHANGES AND REFUNDS

The Organizing Secretariat must be notified in writing of any change or cancellation of a hotel reservation. Please do not contact the hotel directly in case of any reservation changes or cancellation. The appropriate refunds will be made after the Congress.

Change of the date of arrival is possible until 12 a.m. before the day of arrival. In case the request of a change is received after 12 a.m., 1 night cancellation fee will be charged.

In case of no show, one night cancellation fee will be charged. In such a case the room is kept for the guest until 12,00 o’clock of the day following after the date of expected arrival. Afterwards the room will be offered as freely available.

Special tours and excursions have been arranged exclusively for the delegates and accompanying persons. All tours will leave from and return to the Prague Congress Centre. In this case another tour will be offered or a refund will be paid at the Registration Desk.

This tour includes a visit to the most attractive and historic parts of Prague. Participants will see selected monuments of the Prague Castle, Loretto and the Strahov Monastery with a nice view over the city. The most important monuments of the Lesser Town will include the Church of St. Nicholas and St. Thomas Church. Visitors will further see the Charles Bridge with a nice view over the city from the top of the Lesser Town Bridge Tower comme- morating the reign of Charles IV (1346-1378). Participants will also visit selected parts of Old Town with the Old Town Square, the Old Horologe and the gothic Church of Our Lady.

Prague has a large capacity in all types of hotels. Delegates can choose different styles from luxury five-star hotels to three-star hotels. Major congress hotels are located within walking distance to Prague Congress Centre, others are easily accessible by underground.

Transport

There is a modern and safe public transport system in Prague that includes trams, buses and underground. Prague underground is quite a new one and very efficient. At rush hours there is a train every 2 minutes, off rush at least every 10 minutes.

Fares on public transport are either CZK 14 or CZK 20 (€0.50 or €0.70).

One-day and one-week tickets are also available.

Name Badge

Participants and accompanying persons will receive a name badge. Everyone is requested to wear this badge for all Congress activities. The badge is the pass for the Congress Centre and the Welcome Reception. Cost for replacing a lost or mislaid badge: EUR 15

Airport

Prague-Ruzyne International Airport is about 18 kilometres from city centre. 28 Airlines provide 150 – 200 international arrivals daily.

How to get from Airport to Prague Congress Centre?

You can travel by public transport. Go by bus No. 119 to underground station “Dejvicka” and carry on to the station “Museum”. Then change to line C and go to the station “Vysehrad”. The PCC is just next to this station. You will need to buy ticket for CZK 20 for this journey.

You can also take a taxi. Taxi ride from the airport to Prague Congress centre will take approximately 30 – 45 minutes and cost about EUR 25.

Passport and visa requirements

Visitors from non-EU Countries must posses a passport valid for at least the next 3 months.
Citizens of many countries do not need a visa to enter Czech Republic (for instance Canada, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Israel, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Hong Kong and others). For more information please see: www.mzv.cz. Participants requiring a visa should apply immediately to a consular office or a diplomatic mission of the Czech Republic in their country in order to avoid a delayed arrival to the Congress. Please note that the visa application procedure can take up to two months. It is not possible to obtain visa at the Prague Airport.

The Organizing Secretariat assists the delegates by processing the official invitations on request.

Language

The official language of the congress is English.

Insurance

The organising committee assumes no responsibility for injuries or losses occurring to persons or personal belongings during the Congress. Participants are advised to take out proper travel and health insurance.

Currency and banking

The currency unit in the Czech Republic is the Czech crown (“koruna”, CZK). 1 USD = around 27 CZK, and €1 = approx. CZK 31. International credit cards are accepted for payment in most hotels, restaurants and shops. Exchange offices and ATM machines are widely available throughout the town and at Prague International Airport.

Electricity

The Czech Republic uses a 220 V, 50 Hz system. Sockets conform to the European standard and plugs are three-pronged earthed.

Time

Prague is one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.
